After flying high against East Columbus last Monday, East Bladen came back down to earth. The East Bladen Eagles were outmatched by the Pender Patriots at home and fell 44-12. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Despite the loss, East Bladen still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Suggs, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Those 101 rushing yards gave Suggs a new career-high.

Coryyon Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pender, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown. Pender is undefeated when Moore posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Jeremiah Johnson was another key player, rushing for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.

East Bladen dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Pender, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
