Basketball Recap: Seton Hall Prep's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Seton Hall Prep entered their contest against Payne Tech on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Seton Hall Prep Pirates fell to the Payne Tech Lions 63-58. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 63-54.

Seton Hall Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Guzzardo, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Gonzalez, who had seven points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Seton Hall Prep's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Payne Tech, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Seton Hall Prep is taking a road trip to take on East Orange Campus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Hall Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully East Orange Campus likes a good challenge. As for Payne Tech, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Payne Tech Lions take on the Arts Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
