Baseball Recap: Walker Valley Victorious

Walker Valley posted their closest victory since April 1st on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Red Bank Lions, sneaking past 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Titus Torbett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Cooper Cantrell looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

Torbett wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Sneed, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.

Walker Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-16-1. As for Red Bank, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-16.

Walker Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 victory against McMinn County on the 1st. As for Red Bank, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against East Ridge on the 29th.
