Recap: American Prep WV Eagles vs. Tooele Buffaloes
If the American Prep WV Eagles were feeling good off their 42-17 takedown of the Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. American Prep WV was beaten by Tooele 46-16 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points American Prep WV has scored all season.
Tooele found their leader in underclassman Kennedy Searle, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Josie Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
American Prep WV's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Tooele, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Prep WV will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Tooele will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Bear River is ranked 113th, while Tooele is ranked 108th).
