Volleyball Recap: Butternut's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Solon Springs, Butternut was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the South Shore Cardinals. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Midgets as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Butternut was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 26-28, 21-25, 25-23, 15-7.

Butternut's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elana Lynch, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave Lynch a new career-high.

Butternut's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for South Shore, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Butternut will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Drummond at 7:00 p.m. on October 9. As for South Shore, they will face off against Hurley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
