Howland's match on Saturday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on the Orange Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory. Howland's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Luca Naples and Dimitri ( Mitch) Gentis scored all three of Howland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Howland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Orange, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howland will welcome Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orange's defense better be ready for this one: Lutheran West have averaged an impressive 2.8 goals per game this season.
