Palisades has gone 9-1 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Palisades Dolphins will host the University Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Palisades' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so University's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Palisades and Hamilton, and Hamilton kept the tradition alive. Palisades fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.
Palisades saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kurland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Andreas Konnari also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, University didn't have quite enough to beat Fremont on Monday and fell 7-6. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Jacob Santos was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Evan Han was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Palisades, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Palisades has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Palisades was able to grind out a solid victory over University in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Does Palisades have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
