Basketball Recap: Woodberry Forest Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Woodberry Forest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Collegiate Cougars by a score of 79-71. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Frank Macnelly, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 20 points and five boards. Aidan Gregory was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 20 points.

Woodberry Forest's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Collegiate, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Woodberry Forest has already played their next contest, a 75-47 loss against St. Christopher's on the 21st. As for Collegiate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-65 victory against Harrisonburg HomeSchool on the 18th.
