Basketball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lookout Valley last Thursday, Northwest Whitfield came back down to earth. The Northwest Whitfield Bruins were outmatched by the Calhoun Yellow Jackets and fell 83-39. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-15.

Calhoun's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Perkins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Jaxon Moore was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Northwest Whitfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season. As for Calhoun, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Northwest Whitfield will head out on the road to face off against LaFayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calhoun, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-39 win against Dalton on the 1st.
