Basketball Recap: Bucyrus Comes Up Short

Bucyrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Peter's Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redmen of the 68-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Among those leading the charge was Markeis Johnson, who posted 21 points. St. Peter's is undefeated when Johnson posts 20 or more points, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Wesley Roberts, who had 15 points.

Bucyrus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for St. Peter's, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Bucyrus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-55 loss against Wynford on the 13th. As for St. Peter's, they have also already played their next matchup, a 71-63 defeat against Crestline on the 13th.
