Preview: Barron Collier Cougars vs. Lehigh Lightning
The Barron Collier Cougars and the Lehigh Lightning will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Barron Collier unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a serious blow against North Tampa Christian Academy, falling 80-49. While losing is never fun, Barron Collier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while North Tampa Christian Academy is ranked 33rd).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lehigh's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to First Baptist Academy 53-49.
Barron Collier's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lehigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Barron Collier beat Lehigh 68-55 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Does Barron Collier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lehigh turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
