Softball Recap: Purvis Takes a Loss

Purvis and South Jones squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Purvis had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Braves this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-0 loss on Thursday.

Tiyah Evans - 2026 made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooxie Shepherd - 2026, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Purvis and nudges their season record down to 13-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for South Jones, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Purvis nor South Jones have any future games scheduled.
