Lennard scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Brandon Eagles a 15-0 shutout. Considering Lennard has won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian Skaggs looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also only allowed one walk).
On the hitting side, Lennard got a massive performance out of Matthew Counts, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Rj Torres, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
The win got Lennard back to even at 6-6. As for Brandon, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.
Lennard will be playing in front of their home fans against Sickles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sickles: 1.8, Lennard: 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Brandon, they will be playing at home against Freedom at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Brandon has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
