Volleyball Recap: Crane Takes a Loss

Crane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Compass Academy Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Cranes were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Compass Academy to victory were Makayla Levario and Sareyah Hinojoz. Levario had five aces and four digs, while Hinojoz had six digs. Those five aces gave Levario a new career-high.

Crane's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Compass Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crane will take on rival Coahoma at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Compass Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Brownfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
