Volleyball Recap: Westland Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Westland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Centennial Stars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Westland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-22.

Kylie Murphy paced Westland's offense, picking up nine kills. Murphy got some help from Audrey Alves and her 20 assists. Alves was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win got Westland back to even at 1-1. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Westland has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Worthington Kilbourne on the 26th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Beechcroft on the 26th.
