Basketball Recap: Provine Takes a Loss

Provine lost a heartbreaker to Natchez when they met back in January, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Rams took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Natchez had a senior duo take command as Daylan Haywood shot 53% from the field on his way to 19 points along with eight assists and six boards and William Johnson almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Haywood's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Braxton Madison was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Provine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Natchez, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Provine has already played their next game, a 61-48 victory against Tylertown on the 29th. As for Natchez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-48 loss against South Pike on the 25th.
