Basketball Recap: Calhoun Has No Trouble Against Luverne

There's no place like home for Calhoun, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 victory over the Luverne Tigers on Friday. That 17 point margin sets a new team best for Calhoun this season.

Calhoun had a senior duo take command as Ladarrius Thigpen dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 boards and Tyler Robertson dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Robertson has scored at least a third of Calhoun's points. Jamel Mason was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Luverne, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-70 defeat against Stanhope Elmore on the 7th. Luverne has also already played their next game, a 60-31 victory against Goshen on the 7th.
