Baseball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tellico Plains Bears. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Polk County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Hamby, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That hit was Hamby's first of the season.

Polk County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tellico Plains, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Polk County has already played their next matchup (against South Pittsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tellico Plains, they have already played their next game, a 12-11 loss against Eagleton College & Career Academy on the 13th.
