Soccer Recap: Marple Newtown Comes Up Short

Marple Newtown lost against Haverford back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fightin' Tigers came up short against the Fords, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Marple Newtown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Haverford are ranked 25th).

Marple Newtown's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Haverford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2-1.

Marple Newtown has already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Harriton on the 30th. As for Haverford, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 0-0 draw against Methacton on the 27th.
