Basketball Recap: Upland Takes a Loss

Upland was the 64-62 winner over Chino Hills when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Upland Highlanders/Scots fell 54-42 to the Chino Hills Huskies on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders/Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Huskies are ranked 76th).

Upland dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chino Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-5.

Upland will challenge Rancho Cucamonga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Cucamonga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 27 contests -- so hopefully Upland likes a good challenge. Chino Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
