Basketball Recap: Larimore Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Avery Gratton and Jace Collison

Larimore lost against Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Larimore Polar Bears fell 70-60 to the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots.

Jace Collison and Avery Gratton certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Collison went 9 of 20 en route to 24 points, while Gratton went 5 for 11 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and five boards. That's the most points Gratton has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brison Falch, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Larimore now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Larimore will challenge Hatton/Northwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Larimore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg has already played their next matchup (against Grafton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
