Preview: Dunbar Wolverines vs. Walnut Ridge Scots
The Dunbar Wolverines on the road again on Saturday and play against the Walnut Ridge Scots at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. Dunbar will be strutting in after a win while Walnut Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.
Dunbar scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Belmont with points to spare, taking the game 75-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dunbar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Brewer jr, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Jimmy Hill iv was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Walnut Ridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 52-46 to South. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Walnut Ridge has scored all season.
Dunbar's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Walnut Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Dunbar beat Walnut Ridge 59-49 in their previous matchup back in January of 2015. Does Dunbar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Walnut Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
