Elsinore extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 12-7 in the process. They blew past the West Valley Mustangs 20-4. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Breann Lipold was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Lipold was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Elsinore got a massive performance out of Payton LaRouche, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI LaRouche has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Horton, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Elsinore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Valley only managed five hits.
As for West Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.
On West Valley's side, Deonys Ioane was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
