Basketball Recap: Peaster Find Success

Peaster's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 33-28 W over the Breckenridge Buckaroos. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 60-28 win the Buckaroos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Buckaroos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karsyn Smalley, who posted eight points and six rebounds. What's more, Smalley also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Preslie Malcuit, who earned six points.

Peaster's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Breckenridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-23 record this season.

Peaster will take on Eastland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Peaster's defense has only allowed 23.6 points per game this season, so Eastland's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Breckenridge, they will square off against Comanche at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Comanche will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Breckenridge surely won't give up without a fight.
