Basketball Recap: Pinewood Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. Pinewood lost to Priory at home by a 79-63 margin. While losing is never fun, Pinewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 764th, while Priory is ranked 230th).

Jai Gerrodette was his usual excellent self, putting up 19 points for Priory. That's the most points Gerrodette has posted since back in December of 2024. Teddy Xanthopoulos was another key player, earning ten points.

Pinewood has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Priory, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Pinewood nor Priory have any future games scheduled.
