Volleyball Recap: Baker Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Baker was the 3-1 winner over Fort Walton Beach when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Gators took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Tuesday.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Baker lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Annalese Saunders paced Baker's offense, picking up 17 kills. Saunders got some help from Katerina Price and her 18 assists. Peyton Hardy controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Fort Walton Beach found their leader in sophomore Ally Ritter, who had 27 digs and four assists. With that strong performance, Ritter is now averaging an impressive 10.6 digs per game.

Baker has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Fort Walton Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season.

Baker has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Jay on the 25th. As for Fort Walton Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against South Walton on the 30th.
