Baseball Game Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Unioto Shermans

Southeastern hasn't had much luck against Unioto recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will host the Shermans at 5:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Southeastern is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Zane Trace.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Unioto was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Chillicothe by a score of 3-2.

Unioto saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Speakman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Speakman's first of the season.

Southeastern's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Unioto, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Southeastern couldn't quite get it done against Unioto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
