Volleyball Recap: Fullerton Comes Up Short at Home Against Cross County

Fullerton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Cross County Cougars on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-9.

Riley Thomas paced Fullerton's offense, picking up seven kills. Thomas got some help from Georgia Bridger and her nine assists. Ella Pickrel controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cross County found their leader in sophomore Finley Peterson, who had seven digs and six aces.

Fullerton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Newman Grove/St. Edward on the 2nd. As for Cross County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Thayer Central on the 2nd.
