Howard hasn't had much luck against River Hill recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Howard will challenge River Hill at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Howard's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Wilde Lake with a sharp 16-0 win. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.
Austin Proescher made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Proescher was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Abhijeet Singh looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Brennan Giangrasso was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Nystrom, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Howard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Hill). They blew past Wilde Lake 15-0 on Friday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wildecats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Howard's record now sits at 5-0. As for River Hill, their record now sits at an identical 5-0.
Howard came up short against River Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Howard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
