Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

St. Joseph lost against Ridgefield back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Joseph Cadets were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to the Ridgefield Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph lost, don't look at TJ Wright. Despite the final result, he went 13 of 22 en route to 31 points and three steals. Wright's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lameik Black, who posted 14 points.

St. Joseph has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Ridgefield, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will head out to square off against Darien at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Joseph's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Ridgefield, they will venture away from home to face off against Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgefield has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
