Basketball Recap: Hanford West Huskies vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

Hanford West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Roosevelt Rough Riders and fell 93-48. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rough Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Roosevelt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cobi Posas out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Posas' eighth in a row with at least ten points. James Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists.

Hanford West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Roosevelt, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanford West will challenge Reedley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Roosevelt, they will square off against Sunnyside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Sunnyside likes a good challenge.
