Basketball Recap: East Carter Comes Up Short

East Carter came up into this matchup off a tough 28-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Doniphan Dons by a score of 50-48 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Redbirds have suffered against the Dons since December 4, 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for East Carter and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Doniphan, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

East Carter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bunker at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Doniphan will take on Clarkton in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
