Belen is 9-1 against Los Alamos since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Hilltoppers at 11:00 a.m. Belen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Belen heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Saturday. They lost 10-2 to Artesia. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Bulldogs' pitchers proved too tough.

Meanwhile, Los Alamos unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Lovington by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hilltoppers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Los Alamos' defeat dropped their record down to 19-6-1. As for Belen, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.

Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Belen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .478. However, it's not like Los Alamos struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Belen might still be hurting after the 15-4 defeat they got from Los Alamos in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
