While Civic Memorial put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Triad. The Eagles came out on top against the Knights by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 back in April.

The win made it two in a row for Civic Memorial and bumps their season record up to 14-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Triad, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-8.

Civic Memorial and Triad should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 203rd) will meet Marquette Catholic (ranked 409th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Triad will take on Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (68 vs. 454).
