Baseball Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Coronado Islanders

For the second straight game, Christian will face off against Coronado. The Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Islanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Christian's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Coronado hitters got past them. The Patriots lost 10-1 to the Islanders on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xander Molina, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Molina also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Coronado is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
