Baseball Recap: Belton-Honea Path's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

If Belton-Honea Path was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Crescent last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Aidan Jenkins was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has become a key player for Belton-Honea Path: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Belton-Honea Path saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Bates, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Belton-Honea Path's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Crescent, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

While Belton-Honea Path had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
