Softball Recap: Loudonville's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Loudonville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played East Knox, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Redbirds' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 14-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Redbirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alesha Felix made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Felix was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Wolford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Adalynn Goudy was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Loudonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Loudonville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3. As for East Knox, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Loudonville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
