Preview: Central Golden Eagles vs. Longmeadow Lancers
Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Longmeadow Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Central posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They blew past West Springfield 73-27 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-15.
Angalece Quinones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jai-lyn Garvin-martin, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Longmeadow was fully in charge on January 5th, breezing past Chicopee 65-31 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Longmeadow.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Longmeadow, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything came up roses for Central against Longmeadow in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 57-28 victory. Will Central repeat their success, or does Longmeadow have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
