Basketball Game Preview: Bethune Bobcats vs. Idalia Wolves

Bethune is 0-10 against Idalia since February of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Friday. Bethune enjoyed a cozy 60-46 victory over Manzanola.

Bethune found their leader in freshman Angel Millan, who posted 23 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Millan is becoming a predictor of Bethune's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't). Josh Salinas was another key player, going 6-for-13 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Bethune smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 12.6.

Meanwhile, Idalia beat Arickaree 50-42 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Bethune's record is now 4-8. As for Idalia, their record now sits at 7-5.

Bethune came up short against Idalia in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 36-26. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
