Baseball Recap: Villa Park Comes Up Short

Villa Park and St. John Bosco squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Villa Park had to settle for second. They fell 7-4 to the Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Villa Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Villa Park's defeat dropped their record down to 25-8. As for St. John Bosco, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 29-4.

Villa Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John Bosco, they will square off against Patrick Henry at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves are on a ten-game streak of home wins, the Patriots a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
