Baseball Game Preview: ALA - Ironwood Warriors vs. Benjamin Franklin Chargers

The ALA - Ironwood Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

ALA - Ironwood not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024. They put the hurt on Bourgade Catholic with a sharp 12-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Liam Wood, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for ALA - Ironwood: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Dominic Cervantes also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Sabercats by a score of 6-1.

Talan Speir was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Moran, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

ALA - Ironwood's record is now 3-9. As for Benjamin Franklin, their record now sits at 4-5-1.
