Softball Recap: Catholic Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jefferson County Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catholic Central). They came out on top against the Jefferson County Christian Royals by a score of 22-17 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Gianna Lemal and Genna Free did most of the damage at the plate: Lemal went 3-for-4 with seven stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Free scored five runs and stole nine bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Lemal also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Grace Fink, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-4.

Catholic Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Catholic Central will be playing at home against Paden City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jefferson County Christian, they will face off against Wellsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
