Volleyball Recap: Desert Edge Gets the Win

Desert Edge hadn't done well against Youngker recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Scorpions narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Roughriders 3-2. The Scorpions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Roughriders, too.

Desert Edge was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11.

The victory made it two in a row for Desert Edge and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Youngker, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Desert Edge is set to challenge their familiar foe Buckeye at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Youngker will take on rival North Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
