Preview: Gaither vs. Freedom
Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Freedom should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will look to defend their home turf against Gaither at 7:30 PM. Freedom aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
It was all tied up at the half for Freedom and Spoto last Friday, but Freedom stepped up in the second half. Freedom won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Spoto 7-6. Senior Jeremiah Ashe, who caught passes for 91 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Freedom's success.
Meanwhile, everything went Gaither's way against Lennard as they made off with a 35-12 win. The success made it back-to-back wins for Gaither.
Their wins bumped Gaither to 2-1 and Freedom to 1-2. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Gaither and Freedom clash.
