Preview: Mark Morris Monarchs vs. Ridgefield Spudders
Mark Morris is 8-2 against Ridgefield since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mark Morris Monarchs will play host again and welcome the Ridgefield Spudders, where tip off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Mark Morris knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Ridgefield likes a good challenge.
Mark Morris can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They put the hurt on Hockinson with a sharp 80-58 victory. Given Mark Morris' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Hockinson is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tumwater 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mark Morris is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Ridgefield, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
Everything came up roses for Mark Morris against Ridgefield in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 71-38 win. Does Mark Morris have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridgefield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
