Baseball Recap: South Houston Comes Up Short

South Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-4 to the Manvel Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-3 last Friday.

South Houston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Garcia, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another was Jacolby Mayberry, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

South Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Manvel, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

South Houston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Dawson on the 25th. As for Manvel, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Sam Rayburn on the 25th.
