Basketball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 45-11 defeat at the hands of the Williamsburg Wildcats. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rylee Manning was Edgewood's leading scorer, having posted four points. Layla Marconi held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Williamsburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Edgewood will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Miamisburg at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Williamsburg, they are taking a road trip to face off against Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Williamsburg's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so Goshen's offense will have their work cut out for them.
