Basketball Game Preview: Petoskey Northmen vs. Sault Area Blue Devils

Petoskey is 2-8 against Sault Area since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Petoskey Northmen will head out to square off against the Sault Area Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Petoskey came up short against Cadillac and fell 50-37. The matchup marked the Northmen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sault Area has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by DeWitt and fell 63-34. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Panthers are ranked tenth).

Petoskey's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Sault Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Petoskey beat Sault Area 35-25 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Petoskey repeat their success, or does Sault Area have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
