Sparta blew Mansfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Mansfield got their revenge. The Trojans fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-4. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Layne Forgey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Norah Stallcup also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Mansfield, they moved to 7-14 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
