Softball Preview: H-L-V Warriors vs. Keota Eagles
H-L-V is 3-0 against Keota since June of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The H-L-V Warriors will be playing at home against the Keota Eagles at 5:30 p.m.
H-L-V is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering English Valleys just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs H-L-V has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Keota can finally bid farewell to their 27-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 13-10 victory over Colfax-Mingo. Keota's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Lexus Detweiler was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lainey Swansonc, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Having lost for the first time this season, H-L-V fell to 4-1. As for Keota, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
